yah.. scotland was where macbeth was set in. the real story, according to my tour guide couldn be further from the play. macbeth killed macduff in battle, out in the open. and macbeth was a very popular king and so was lady macbeth. macduff on the other hand was a weak leader. so everyone in scotland were happy to be under the rule of macduff. but shakespeare revered the roles of the characters because the king of England at that time supported macduff and so he didnt' want to get on the bad side of the king.
